Executive Vice President Jennie Crossley of Cornwall Hudson, New York, overseeing the importing and purchasing departments has been a part of the Allstar family since 1981. In 1987 Crossley began volunteering in a then relatively new organization, Adaptive Sports Foundation (ASF).
Allstar President and CEO, Scott Boilen, saw how committed Crossley was to the organization and throughout the years has repeatedly asked how Allstar can help. Take a look at the most recent photo of participants in ASFs Tomorrow’s Children event on July 28, 2015 which hosted children and adults with cancer and serious blood disorders.
ASF is a non-profit organization that was established in 1984 and has since worked with tens of thousands of children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities and chronic illnesses. The organization was formed to provide profound and life changing experiences through outdoor physical activity, education, support and community. Sports programs are offered all year round such as skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing in the winter and paddling, fly fishing and golf in the summer
“I was always interested in athletics, and more than 25 years ago I saw this volunteer program at Windham Mountain Resort, I inquired about it and the rest is history,” said Crossley. “This is how I spend my weekends, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.”
In addition to the winter and summer programs ASF has been selected to be a regional site for the dissemination of a year round program called Warriors in Motion; a program for troops injured in the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Last winter to help out the troops Boilen donated 150 Snuggie Blankets and Hot Booties Foot Warmers to the soldiers of the 25th Signal Battalion to help with Afghanistan’s bitter winters.
Allstar Products Group is honored for supporting the troops ‘Operation Enduring Freedom’ in 2013-2014.
While Boilen is very committed to supporting ASF, his philanthropic giving doesn’t stop here. For 2015 Allstar Products Group is supporting the Food Bank of Westchester, Back-to-School Clothes for Kids (backpack drive), Salvation Army (coat and sweater drive) and Toys for Tots.
